Few days after this: ofthefire1.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=church&action=display&thread=1647
The afternoon light came through the Church as the door opened, Shawn stood there tall with a wooden ladder in his left hand and a small wooden tool box in his right hand. He nodded his head tenderly to the statue of Jesus Christ that hung behind the altar. Any on lookers could observe that Shawn had a sympathetic expression on his face. His deep, dark eyes were filled with love and warmth with a dash of sadness in them.
He was wearing nearly new working blue long sleeve shirt and a blue jeans. He had working boot on. There was a colt on his right side of his hip. He was not wearing his undertakers business clothes for this job. His blonde hair was medium long for a man. He's young and handsome looking too.
The Church care-taker turned quietly to see the newcomer. He smiled delightfully at the tall man. “Hello, the Pastor is not in. What I do for you?” the church care-taker asked from behind a pew he was polishing with used dirty rag.
Shawn's dark eyes turned on to the faithfully servant of the church. “I come to repair the Lord's head, sir,” he replied fondly as his eyes righteously turned to the statue. The church care-taker had allowed Shawn to come to do what Shaw had to do.
The Kentucky man smiled warmly to the church care-taker. “Thank you sir,” he said. They had a short conversation on when and how the statue was damaged and how thankful that Shawn was doing a worthy task. “He died for our sins and we placed him there. This is me paying the favor back,” he replied with his Kentucky accent. “Though it never pay the full price.”
So, he had placed the small wooden tool box down on the shiny wooden floor. He gently placed the wooden ladder up against the statue. He shook the ladder to check see the ladder was secured in place. It was solid. He knelt down to the floor, like a man who was praying. He opened the wooden tool box silently as he could. He pulled out a small candle stick that was thin. He climbed the ladder, now he was looking face to face of the savior who had died for him on the cross. He carefully placed candle wax in the knife mark. Much care went in to his work. The time and care for fixing this statue was his love for the lord. So hours had gone by.
“Lord, please look over the one who done this. I am sorry this had happened to you. Don't be bitter. It was said there is a time for being sad and happiness, death and life and rest and work. We will never understand your ways. I will never understand why you took my only wife from me too. Elizabeth was my world and my life. I am a man and I have a son. It pains me to see him have no mother. Yet, he says he understands which I do believe. A young child he is and innocent. I see Elizabeth strength in him. I do not know how long I will be able to raise him right. Soon he want spend time with me when I have to prepare on the new journey,” he said gracefully. "Give me the wisdom to know what to do. I will wear it around my neck like a garland..amen."
The glue was in place, he dug out the sand paper he had. “Now, it is time to heal what was done,” he paused. A playful smile grew on his face. “A lesson is taught, yes my time will heal in due time."
The ladder wobbled now when he started to sand the forehead of Jesus Christ's statue. “I fear not,” he declared to the empty church. So he thought it was silent. The head looked smooth. He placed the worn out sand paper in the pocket. He carefully took out a wag and his tin canister that had wine inside. He opened the canister, slowly poured the wine on the cloth. He moved the wet cloth up to forehead of Jesus' head and he wiped the wax dust off the forehead of the statue. The wax was almost the same color of the skin of the face. It almost looked like nobody damaged the statue. He smiled.
He slowly got down on the bottom of the ladder. He looked up at it. The work was done.
It it up to if anyone saw him do this deed or not. It was only time they will notice and the word will be out.
